Simeon Miller

Simeon has worked professionally as a Lighting Designer and Technician since 2008. He works across theatre, musicals, ‘gig theatre’ as well as dance. He enjoys contributing to new writing, especially socially and politically conscious work which amplifies oppressed and radical voices.

Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts 2008-2010 First Class Degree BA (Hons) - Technical Theatre specialising in Lighting & Scenic Design

Skills:

Competent LX Programmer with knowledge of ETC, Strand, ChamSys and Zero 88 desks. Skilled with Qlab programming and integration, projection mapping and the creation of technologically complex practical props and lighting practicals.

Upsetters Takeover Festival at The Bunker for The Upsetters “TAKEOVER FESTIVAL is an annual week-long touring festival which takes over a new theatre venue each year around the country with the aim of presenting new work by artists of colour while engaging with the next generation of young theatre-makers from culturally diverse backgrounds.”

Jude Starbeam and the Shadow Planet at The Albany for On the Button (A play for 7-11 year olds) “Inspired by stories of young people growing up with a brain injury, Jude Starbeam and the Shadow Planet is a challenging and exciting new production about how two the siblings come to terms with this trauma.”

Lighting Designer: Don’t worry Humans can't live without light at The Place for Tamae Yoneda

Taking place as part of the Resolution Dance Festival at the Place, London, this piece was based on the life of Tamae’s father, the loss of his job during the Japanese financial crash, his lowest points, and the meeting of him and Tamae’s mother that brought him out of his darkness.
