Costume Supervisor
Costume forms part of the Technical and Production unit, encompassing Production Costume, Running Wardrobe and working closely with the Wigs, Hair and Makeup department.
Working with the Costume Department, you will be leading on designated ENO productions to realize all established designs to the highest standard. You will work with a collaborative team, managing budgets, communicating across departments and liaising with creative designers to execute their vision. This is a permanent 12-month contract.

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is seeking to appoint an experienced librarian to lead an efficient and high-quality library service that effectively supports learning, teaching and research across the institution.
The role holder will act as the point of authority with respect to library and learning services and will be the most senior professional librarian within the institution. The Head of Technical will ensure the physical production of all Factory International (FI) concerts, artworks, productions and shows are delivered and maintained to the highest standard. This includes FI produced work in addition to co-produced, third party created visiting work and corporate events at all scales from small foyer events though to whole building take overs.
The Head of Technical will lead, develop, and manage the permanent and temporary technical teams (Technical Trainer, Sound, Lighting, Video, Stage, & Rigging), and show-specific teams such as wardrobe, wigs, and stage management. The post holder will develop and embed a cohesive, efficient, cost-effective and robust technical operations structure whilst always keeping environmental sustainability, access and customers at the heart of what we do.
The key responsibilities for the Head of Technical include;
- Line management of permanent and temporary Technical and Production Department staff and to oversee the recruitment of contract Factory International staff as appropriate
- Liaise with visiting companies and artists regarding production and technical requirements, ensuring the highest standards of delivery and presentation, and that all contractual agreements are met. (These are predominately, but not exclusively music or commercial events)
- Working with the Director of Production and Building Operations, and Production Managers, to deliver produced and co-produced shows, artworks and events to the highest standard, to budget, and on time
- Working with the Technical Trainer and Technical Heads of Department, embed training and professional development within the department
- Be part of the planning process around venue infrastructure format changes with particular focus on scheduling, logistics (materials & staffing), and budgetary parameters
- Working with Factory International’s commercial team and producers to ensure
technical sales, contras and staffing recharges are managed effectively within delivery of third-party events
- Ensure all venue technical and production equipment is maintained and in good working order, including managing specialist vendors and leading on the procurement of show specific equipment, ensuring they are delivered on schedule and within budget
- Ensure Factory technical specifications, drawings, plans and models are kept up to date and available for distribution
- Ensure Factory shows, artworks and events are captured for archive and remounting (Production Manuals) including video, audio, prompt copies and show files and digital models
- Lead the technical team in the development, and maintenance of up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures
- Responsible for statutory compliance across all technical related systems, (including but not exclusively LOLER, periodic electrical testing, CDM2015) and keep accurate records
- Ensure the Technical Team’s proactive compliance with Factory International’s H&S Policies, including risk assessments and implementing safe systems of work. Review and Sign Off all production related risk assessments and method statements, including any additional risks created due to concurrent activities
The person specification for the Head of Technical are;
ESSENTIAL
Substantive track record in technical management in either a receiving or producing environment
Proven experience of managing and motivating a team to achieve consistently high levels of performance
Up to date knowledge of technical production (e.g., lighting, sound, video, rigging, set construction, etc), or relevant and proven knowledge from equivalent fields. (This can be from an art form, but with preference for a live music or commercial event environment)
Experience of developing and updating standard operating procedures
Proven experience of interpreting technical plans and diagrams from CAD plans

The Head of Rigging & Automation will work with and support other technical teams and wider Factory International teams to ensure that all our spaces, events and shows are delivered to an exceptional standard and are accessible to everyone across all artforms; visual and performing arts, live music, theatre, exhibitions, corporate events and beyond.
The key responsibilities for the Head of Rigging & Automation include;
Responsible for the deployment and operation of all aspects of Factory International’s Rigging and Automation equipment. To line manage the core venue rigging team
Organise the smooth running of the get ins and fit up, show runs, and get outs, planning appropriate staffing levels and equipment for the department, and ensuring that this is carried out in accordance with current Health & Safety legislation and Environmental Good Practice
Oversee production rigging and automation within the creation and delivery of artworks, concerts, shows and events; including truss and temporary structures. This extends to performer flying, and working at height including rescue
Liaise with visiting technical departments, ensuring their requirements are met, they are compliant with Factory policies and there is maximum exploitation of the commercial contract. Develop and promote production related income streams
Cover the position of Technical Duty Manager on a rota basis and manage other technical departments in the absence of the relevant manager. Provide advice to all other users of the venue with regard to the safe and proper use of technical and stage equipment with specific emphasis on rigging
In conjunction with other Department Heads plan and deliver an effective programme of maintenance (inc Planned Preventative Maintenance), housekeeping, stock control and testing for all appliances and performance related equipment in the building

ESSENTIAL
Proven experience of entertainment rigging or automation in one or more art form (live music, theatre, performance art, etc), preferably in a producing environment

Strong working knowledge of Kinesys rigging equipment and automation systems

Stage Manager

New Adventures are looking to recruit a Stage Manager with a background in small scale touring and / or community arts for Doorstep Duets: a community dance project touring the South East in Summer 2025.
Overall Dates:

Performances: Monday 30 June – Saturday 27 July 2025 (touring around South East England)

Role:
The Stage Manager is responsible for all technical and production elements of Doorstep Duets, working closely with the Doorstep Duets Project Producer and the project team to ensure it is produced and presented with high quality production values and in the best possible circumstances.
On tour, the Stage Manager will drive a hired van to transport set, props, costumes and performers to each performance location. They will lead on the set-up of the production prior to each performance, assisted by the rest of the company. They will operate the sound for each performance.
The actual technical elements of the production are minimal. The performance will be twenty minutes long and will be performed up to four times a day to different community audiences and in different external and internal spaces.
This role is key to ensuring that the project runs smoothly and efficiently. The right candidate will be proactive, excited by a diverse and varied workload, and will have excellent communication skills.

Wigs, Hair and Make Up Assistant (Part-Time)
Responsibilities & duties will include:
Under the supervision of the Head of Wigs and Deputy Head of Wigs, assist with running the department.
Candidates will require relevant hands-on professional experience, the ability to work under pressure and effectively within a team, good interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organisational and time management qualities to ensure that the production runs efficiently and smoothly.
Ensuring that all wigs, makeup and equipment is maintained to a high standard.
Maintaining, setting up and dressing wigs for performances.
Assist with compiling and keeping up to date cue sheets and other relevant show paperwork including the wigs show running bible.
Deputising for the Deputy Head of Wigs in their absence and being familiar with all plots and tracks within the department.
Attend any rehearsals or calls and participate in staff/team meetings as and when required.
Work get in, production periods, and get outs as required
This position is a 6 months fixed-term part-time role consisting of between 16 - 24 hours per week (total weekly hours negotiable) with additional hours possible for holiday coverage. However, the candidate will ideally be available for full-time training between Tuesday 6th - Saturday 24th May 2025.
