Head of Sound and Lighting
Stratford East is looking to appoint a Head of Sound & Lighting.
We are looking for an excellent Head of Sound & Lighting to join our wonderful production team. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the Sound & Lighting Department at Stratford East. They will support the Head of Production in facilitating the sound & lighting requirements of each production and the efficient management of the department, to achieve technical excellence.
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST:
To facilitate the smooth running and delivery of Stratford East productions, collaboratively and creatively supporting all aspects of the production process through technical excellence, adaptability, and teamwork.
To be an inhouse expert and liaison for touring shows, incoming companies, events, or hires.
To ensure safety standards and best working practices are upheld in all situations.
To provide clear leadership for the technical team throughout preproduction and technical processes, ensuring wellbeing and high artistic standards
To manage and build relationships with external clients and key stakeholders, eg hire companies, freelance staff, and core creatives
To forward plan, manage logistics and budgets effectively, enabling technical departments to deliver efficiently and to schedule

£38,000 - £40,000 subject to experience and annual review
Hours of Work:
39 per week 1x Overtime until 44hrs, 1.5x OT thereafter.
Holidays:
30 days per annum including bank holidays. This will increase by 1 day for each full holiday year of service completed to a maximum total of 33 days. Holiday is pro rata for part time roles.

JWP are looking for an experienced Assistant Stage Manager (Book Cover) to join The Devil Wears Prada at The Dominion Theatre, London. The ideal candidate will have previous experience on a large scale West End musical, great communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to learn.
Start date: Mid November
Responsibilities / necessary skills for the role include:
Supporting the Stage Manager & Deputy Stage Manager to ensure smooth running rehearsals and shows.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as strong organisational and time management skills.
Support & manage communication within the Stage Management Team with the Props Supervisor to ensure props are sourced and maintained.
Assist and support Creatives, Production Teams, Backstage Departments throughout Rehearsals, Technical Rehearsals and show running to ensure a smooth production.
Manage and update Show Paperwork, including setting lists, cue sheets, crew plots and props trackers.
Attend and be present for Rehearsals, Production Periods, Show Running and Cover Rehearsals as required.
Learn and Cover the SL & SR ASM plots.
Learn and cover the Book.
Assisting the stage manager with administrative tasks.
Assisting with set changes and keeping track of props.
Experience in London is preferable.

The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is seeking to appoint a permanent Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Production Arts. The postholder will act as Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Production Arts: Props, Painting & Set for an initial fixed term of five years. Following this period, they will continue in a permanent role at a grade/title commensurate with experience.

You will be joining a supportive and dynamic department of academics, educators and practitioners, home to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in technical, design, production and pedagogy. Head of Wardrobe
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our busy Technical Team at Curve, one of Britain’s leading producing theatres, as the Head of Wardrobe.
You will facilitate the costume requirements for all in-house and visiting productions, including pre-production, running and maintenance, and will ensure all productions are presented to the highest possible standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the temporary wardrobe and wig staff and will be required to attend production meetings, technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals as necessary.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience in a comparable role with a broad understanding of costume related disciplines. A commitment to achieving high standards, the ability to work quickly under pressure and being able to work as part of a team are vital.

The Barbican is a multidisciplinary international arts centre in the City of London.

The role
The Barbican Music department is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and experienced Senior Stage Manager to manage the stage team and to deliver world-class events in the Concert Hall and associated areas, onsite and offsite.
Responsible for a multi-skilled stage team, the Senior Stage Manager will ensure that all events are appropriately staffed; all staging requirements from the Music and Business Events departments are met throughout all rehearsals, recordings, performances and commercial events in the Concert Hall and offsite. The post holder will line-manage an experienced team of Stage & Deputy Stage Managers and Stage Assistants. Additional responsibilities encompass the long-term provision and safety of stage equipment and furniture, and the spatial maintenance and upkeep of the Concert Hall auditorium, stage and all associated backstage areas in conjunction with Senior Technical Manager and with support from the Stage Manager.
Ability to multi-task, lead and develop a team, work under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Weekend and evening work is required on occasions for this role.
Essential requirements:
Relevant stage management qualification or equivalent experience e.g. three-year BA (Hons) Stage Management or BTEC Level 4 HNC Diploma in Performing Arts (Production).
An extensive knowledge of the music industry, both classical and contemporary, and a thorough understanding of all the creative processes of music-making and knowledge of business events requirements.
Ability to identify and secure staffing and resources needed for each performance.
Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary arts venue, major music venue or an events company in a senior stage role.
Excellent knowledge of stage equipment and ability to select and hire suitable equipment.
Excellent knowledge of the Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and safe working practices and ability to identify and resolve Health and Safety issues.
Understanding of sound, lighting, recording, video screening etc.
You must be able to demonstrate:
Extensive stage management and line management experience in a Concert Hall environment (permanent staff and casuals, working across disciplines)
Experience of liaising on regular basis with artists, commercial business clients, creative practitioners, producers and “Associate Partners”, to include the LSO, the BBCSO, Academy of Ancient Music Associates, Serious and Darbar Festival.
Demonstrable experience of managing and maintaining budgets
Proven track record of project management.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organisation skills.
Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively across boundaries to achieve positive outcomes.
