Shakira Taylor-Knight
Shakira began her Stage Management journey whilst studying BA Drama and Theatre at Royal Holloway University of London after gaining experience in both creative and backstage roles in Theatre. She then went on to study MA Stage and Events Management at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Training at Royal Welsh she gained experience in Stage Management working on different kinds of Theatre, including Plays, Musical Theatre and Dance.
During lockdown Shakira spent her time working in Administration and Finance. She also worked on improving her Music and Score Reading skills, including starting to learn the Guitar and Drums.
She has recently completed two placements as an Assistant Stage Manager. The first working on Hairspray: The Musical at the London Coliseum in the West End and most recently on Rockets and Blue Lights at the National Theatre.
Shakira is interested in taking on the roles of Assistant and Deputy Stage Manager. She is based in London but is excited to travel and is open to opportunities around the UK and beyond.
She has just started her first job as an ASM at the National Theatre and is looking forward to seeing where her career takes her.
