Afua Nuamah

Afua first stumbled into the Stage Management industry  at the age of 17 when she completed work experience on the production of Legally Blonde at Z-arts. She was immediately mesmerised by the process and the thrill of theatre behind the scenes.

For the last three years Afua has been training in Stage Management at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She has enjoyed working on a wide variety of productions from devised pieces (ASM on The Terror, Dir. Stephen Simms) to musicals (DSM on Little Women, Dir. Lise Olson). She has also been an AV and tech assistant on different productions.

Away from university, Afua has been developing her skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Premiere Pro, crocheting and baking. Through the adversities of the pandemic, one of her biggest achievement, is when she collaborated as a producer and edited an online play of ‘The Laramie Project’ with Saltire Sky Theatre & The 2All Collective.

In her spare time, she is part of the social media team for ‘The SM Nest’ (An informal network for UK based training, graduate and early career Stage Managers).

Through her time in her stage management degree, she has been transformed as an individual and is inspired to immerse herself and is eager to consistently deliver. She understands being part of a team on many scales and collaborating at a fast pace to produce quality content.

She is looking forward to her next stage in her career where she hopes to network with talented individuals and collaborate with many creatives.
