Africa Blagrove

Africa Blagrove is an Assistant Stage Manager based in London with Jamaican heritage. She began her stage management journey after securing a work placement with Get Up! Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical, which sparked her passion for the stage management industry.

With a strong foundation as an ASM, Africa has gained invaluable experience and developed a deep love for stage management. She has a keen eye for detail, especially when crafting intricate paper props that bring stories to life. Now, she’s ready to take the next step—becoming an ASM book cover—with the ultimate goal of moving into a DSM role.

Her dream is to one day work on the West End, helping bring incredible productions to life on some of the biggest stages. With a background in acting, she has a unique understanding of the performer’s perspective, which adds an extra layer to her work. And, of course, she can’t wait for the day she gets to wear a costume as an ASM—it sounds like an absolute blast!

Her ASM credits include:

1536 (Almeida Theatre), Play On! (Bristol Old Vic & Lyric Hammersmith), Alice in Wonderland (Brixton House), No Particular Order (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), My Father’s Fable (Bush Theatre), Samuel Takes a Break … (The Yard Theatre), #Blackis… (New Diorama theatre)
